Asian Celebrity Commercials

We’re seeing a lot more male celebrities endorsing cosmetics and skincare products.  Of the Asian countries, I believe Korea has the highest number of such endorsements, probably a result of the increasing popularity of their male artistes.

Here is one HERA CF featuring Jang Dong Gun (張東健) for their Magic Skin Essence.  Jang Dong Gun was quoted by CNN in an interview last October as the ultimate poster boy for Korean pop culture, smashing nearly all national box-office records with his leading roles in the films “Taegukgi” and “Friend.” He’s also one of the few Korean actors who has ventured into foreign movie productions, such as the joint Chinese-Korean-Japanese movie “The Promise” in 2005, and the upcoming Hollywood debut “Laundry Warrior,” where he will be playing opposite Zhang Ziyi.
