Asian Celebrity Commercials

Kou Shibasaki looks really pretty in this series of advertisements for Onward Kumikyoku fashion wear.  Really delicate and gentle looking, which is rather unlike the on screen characters she usually portrays. 

Anyway, I love Japanese fashion.  Their designs, cuttings, colors are so much more refreshing.  Definitely my cup of tea.   I would love to get my hands on these 2008 spring and summer collection!

Jay Chou (周杰伦) takes on a couple of different looks in the new advertisement to promote the cool looking Motorola MotoRokr E8.   There’s even one of him in a wig too.

If you’re a huge fan of Taiwanese girl band S.H.E., it’s likely you’ve already seen these series of Shanghai-styled commercials for Kuang Chuan Jasmine Tea which appeared last year.  The story line for the plot is quite cute with Ella, Selina and Hebe taking on personas of interesting old Shanghai characters.  Check out the series of wallpapers at the website.

Anyway, that was an old plot. The girls have gone contemporary again in the latest CM for Kuang Chuan Jasmine Tea.

But I think I still prefer the Shanghai plot. More interesting if you ask me.

Although she has a Japanese name, but she has an interesting Eurasian look.  I can imagine she’s popular as a model but I wonder what sort of roles she takes on in dramas and movies as I haven’t seen her act before.

As I’m looking at this NEC N705iu TVCM featuring Tamaki Hiroshi (玉木宏), I’m trying hard to remember him from the movie Waterboys but I really have great difficulties placing him as the clumsy Sato with that alfro hairdo!  He’s so sauve and dashing here!  And by gosh, he’s 180cm tall! 

Go check him out at the NEC website.  Not a great ad concept but it’s cool.  And yes, the phone is really sleek too! 

As for me, I’m off to check out more about this handsome lad!  And yeah, that headline really means that I’m gushing over Hiroshi Tamaki!
