Asian Celebrity Commercials

Despite the Edison Chen photo scandals, Cecilia Cheung (张柏芝) still remains an advertiser’s darling.  Well, at least in the eyes of those in China.  She’s still getting assignments although looking at the products she has endorsed, one cannot help but wonder about the motive of engaging her.

Like this new one for Southbedding (南方寝饰) where the message is about marriage bliss and this is definitely in stark contrast to the rumors circulating about hers being on the rocks.  And come on, BEDS?

Check out the scene right behind and tell me it isn’t trying to entice our imagination with her going under the cover.  I thought that was a tad naughty.

But overall, this is quite a well made fast pace commercial with rich colors and catchy music.

Lux really has a big budget when it comes to advertising and they’re always engaging the big names in the entertainment circuit to endorse their products.  Like here is Shu Qi (舒淇) promoting Lux Lumiere for the Chinese market.  Watch and download her TVCM and wallpaper directly from the Lux website.

Oh, if you’re expecting anything remotely raunchy, you’re in for a disappointment though.

China is really lucrative when it comes to the advertising business.  And celebrities have the best deal because there are plenty of endorsement opportunities in that big market.  In fact, there are so many TVCM of celebrities we don’t see outside China at all.  Like these of Daniel Wu and Karen Mok for Canon.

Anyway, you can find some of their wallpapers at Canon China.  The TVCM link doesn’t seem to be up but it’s not too difficult to search for them online really.

Jackie Chan (成龙) appears in this new commercial with his son Jaycee Chan (房祖名) endorsing Yuanye tea for the China Coca-Cola  which include Chinese green tea and ice red tea, with both products using brewed tea instead of tea powder.

In the TVCM, Jackie Chan is seen coaching his son how to tackle a girl by using Yuanye tea.  Watch the father and son team in action at the Yuanye website and tell me if the story is lame.  Because it is to me, but most probably also because I’m not fond of them. 

Must be their noses!

Since 2004, Dancing With Wolves, a line of menswear in China has engaged Aaron Kwok as their spokesperson.  Check Aaron out in a series of ads for Dancing With Wolves and download his wallpapers at their website.

I say the man still looks hot and moves well for his age.  As a matter of fact, I find myself liking him more these days.
